Tim Winchell, MSW

LMSW, LICSW

Tim received his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska Omaha and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. He recently relocated to Minnesota from Arizona where he was a therapist in a public mental health clinic for 5 years. As a fully trained EMDR therapist he specializes in treating trauma and the problems that often come along with it, including anxiety, depression, and substance use.

“It is an amazing process to see people grow and overcome the effects of painful life experiences. Often survivors of abuse, violence or accidents carry unprocessed parts of the experience with them that negatively impact live their lives. I’m passionate about working together with my clients to empower them to resolve their past, live better in the moment, and reach the future they see for themselves.”

Tim also has experience working with people across the LGBTQ spectrum. “As an openly gay person I understand that life experiences may affect you differently based on your orientation or identity. As a member of the LGBTQ community I bring that awareness to my practice, and do my best to support my clients who may be struggling with issues related to being LGBTQ”

In addition to EMDR, Tim often utilizes CBT, DBT components, psychodynamic approaches and mindfulness in his practice.
