“In therapy my focus is on combining approaches that incorporate creating a positive environment and building a foundation to gain self-actualization and problem-solving skills. My theoretical orientation combines solution focused, humanistic, and behavioral approaches, focusing on what is most effective for each client individually. My approach style concentrates on what is possible and promotes self-accomplishment. I believe that therapy offers you a supportive atmosphere that allows you to work together to create successes. My goal is to help you acquire the tools and skills you need to find successful strategies that you can use every day. I work with a variety of mental health diagnoses surrounding anxiety, ADHD, attachment, depression, Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and mood disorders.
I also specialize in working with children with emotional and behavioral issues. I have been working with adolescents for more than 10 years in schools and in the past couple years at a mental health day treatment facility. My expertise with children includes developing coping skills and strategies to manage issues surrounding anger, behavior management, self-esteem, changes, divorce, grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, attachment, and social skills.”
